Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo

Beauty

Beauty is the female heroine of Bo-bobo's group and usually the only girl when Torpedo Girl or Suzu are not around. A stereotypical teenage manga heroine, she is one of the few sane characters who is the first to join Bo-bobo and was the only citizen to still have hair after the attack of the town she lived in. She initially wanted to join Bo-bobo because she sought a life of adventure. Bo-bobo let her join him, but rejected Pickles at the same time. She has loving feelings for Gasser after he rescued her, but doesn't say anything about them. She is often exasperated by Bo-bobo's odd behavior or the behavior or actions of others, usually with the same face. She's the only person in the group that doesn't fight, but still criticizes the others' fighting styles. There are a few rare occurrences where she was forced to fight to defend herself, but it's only when Bo-bobo isn't around to protect her and at the last minute someone would come and save her. Beauty worries about her friends' safety and finds them as her own family and though finds Bo-bobo crazy she idolizes him greatly. She seems to be a random girl who joins Bo-bobo's group till Softon is "revealed" to be her brother; inferring that she may have powers of her own or is descended from a powerful bloodline. By the end of the series, she is traveling the world with Heppokomaru/Gasser.

Dengakuman

Dengakuman(田楽マン) is a character in Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. The name is connected to "Dengaku", a snack food consisting of grilled tofu dipped in miso on a stick, which is his favorite food. Dengakuman is the "cute mascot character" of Bo-bobo. At one time the little white guy was the head of the Z-Block, the most powerful of the Hair Hunting blocks. His major concerns in life are making people eat dengaku and making as many friends as possible. Though he gains friends, some of them ignore him. Bo-bobo and friends taught Dengakuman the true meaning of friendship and Dengakuman repaid them by saving their lives with Super Dengaku Punch in the OVER arc. Soon he became their friend and joined the team. He is a white super deformed creature with a pointy head with a ball attached to his head and bears a strong resemblance to the Pillsbury Doughboy. Also Dengakuman is the true definition of Polygon as seen in one Bobobo episode

His trademark line, "We'll / I'll make 'em eat grilled tofu dipped in miso on a stick!" is a pun much of the American demographic won't understand, but is still used in the English-language anime nonetheless. Dengakuman can be violent but often he is portrayed as being an extremely weak character. Dengakuman actually claims that he is a dog, but he was only raised by dogs. Dengakuman can fuse with Bo-bobo to create a magical blonde popstar named Denbo; they become Super Denbo-chan if Dengakuman fuses with Super Bo-bobo.

Hatenko

Torpedo Girl

Torpedo Girl (魚雷ガール Gyorai Gāru?) is a powerful, unpredictable force not even Bo-bobo and his Wiggins quite understand when she first appears. Compared to her "other half" OVER, she is a living female torpedo with human arms and legs. Furthermore, compared to the patient anger held by the human form, she gets annoyed by even the slightest of comments, immediately responding by making her bomb-like body fly towards her opponent and smashing into them with intense force. Even if she explodes, she will reassemble instantly. Unlike Over, she is actually 28 years old. It is unknown why she is 28 and Over is three years younger.

Villains

Main Villains of Bo-bobo

Although Bo-bobo and his team come across many strange enemies through their journey, certain villains fight against them with great force as the bosses of this world. Within the modern Chrome Dome Empire, these include Czar Baldy-Bald the Fourth, his Big Four (Captain Battleship, Kitty-Poo, OVER, Halekulani) and right hand man Giga. His battles further force him to encounter strong enemies outside his realm, including former Chrome Dome leader Czar Baldy-Bald the Third, Reverse Chrome Dome mastermind Hydrate, and even his chaotic older brother Bibibi-bi Bi-bibi, leader of the Hair Kingdom.

Czar Baldy Bald the IV

Tsuru Tsurulina the IV / Czar Baldy Bald/Smoothie the 4th (viz manga)(ツル・ツルリーナ4世) - The leader of the "Chrome Dome Empire" (マルハゲ帝国 "Maruhage Empire", lit. baldshaven empire, though the anime changes this from the "Margarita Empire" similar to the drink Margarita). His Japanese name is a Japanese onomatopoeia for something slippery. The Fourth seems easily in control of his empire at the start of the series, but he slowly loses his authority as Bo-bobo and his allies take out his forces, from the Hair Hunters to his "Four Heavenly Kings" to even his prison island of Cyber City. Eventually, he further lost his grip as he was forced by Hair Hunters cryogenically frozen one-hundred years ago to release their leaders to take over this new era. As much as he hated doing this, the Fourth eventually decided this as the only way to keep his hold on power and defeat Bo-bobo. But when even this fell, the Fourth decided to enact his greatest plan: the "New Emperor Playoff", where all of the most powerful warriors of the empire were gathered together in a battle to determine the next emperor. His plan: let all of his enemies take each other out, allowing for him to regain his grip on power. But what he doesn't expect is Hydrate of the Reverse Maruhage Empire taking over his tourney, using it to become emperor himself! The scared emperor bolts away knowing this, basically abdicating the throne and entering an early retirement alongside Mako-chan and Octopus Carl. Czar Baldy Bald also appears on the dollar bills of Halekulani. He is undoubtedly the weakest of his empire shown as a cowardly strategist and was the primary villain until the Reverse Maruhage Empire (Shadow Chrome Dome Empire) arc. He is 42 yrs. old. Czar Baldy Bald is voiced by Taiki Matsuno in Japanese and Terrence Stone in English.

The Chrome Dome Empire Big Four (4 Heavenly Kings)

The Chrome Dome Empire Big Four are four elite fighters below the Emperor (Czar in the English dub). Four of them are capable fighters.

Captain Battleship

Captain Battleship (軍艦, Gunkan in the original Japanese version) is the first of the Chrome Dome Empire Big Four, under Czar Baldy-Bald. He is also Bo-bobo's former friend and sworn rival. This regent-haired, white bearded fighter had also been trained in the Fist of the Nose Hair alongside Bo-bobo in the Hair Kingdom, but turned against his afro-haired friend when Bo-bobo was chosen as the Seventh Master of the Fist of the Nose Hair by their teacher (a juice can). Bo-bobo was chosen over Battleship because Captain Battleship was not a citizen of the Hair Kingdom. Captain Battleship controls his vast military forces from the "Pomade Ring", a sky fortress flying over the destroyed Puppu City (Gasser's hometown). He uses his own style of "Fist of the Nosehair" as well as fights with weird antics, similarly to Bo-bobo. While most of the attacks are his own, his ultimate attack, "Armaggedon", has him calling up the Earth Defense Forces to attack for him. He finally falls after trying to apologize to Bo-bobo for abandoning his friend for his own personal gains, only to face Bo-bobo's anger for acting like a baby. The next time Bobobo and company saw him, he was being punished for his failure by Over. He was the first one to discover Beauty and Gasser's feelings for each other, and taunts and exploits Gasser due to it. He participated in the new emperor playoffs but lost and, thanks to Bobobo, barely escaped death. It seems that he is the longest lasting of the Chrome Dome Big Four. As a Fist of Nosehair user, he is bound to be a little weird (turning into an octopus, blowing up his own ship, have a bad knowledge of numbers.) Like Bobobo, he is 27 years old. He inexplicably makes an appearance with the main characters in both the first opening and ending sequence of the anime.

Battleship was the oldest son of an average family, born in the Hair Kingdom. When he met Bobobo for the first time, he trained hard in the Fist of the Nose Hair to be acknowledged. Battleship wanted to be acknowledged because he wanted to have a purpose in his life. Bobobo was chosen by his master as the Seventh Master of the Fist of the Nose Hair because he was a Hair Kingdom descendant, though he did not have any actual skills (he was more timid and inexperienced). Battleship's pride was crushed so he decided to punish the Hair Kingdom. He didn't do anything when the kingdom was attacked, and was glad it was destroyed. Bobobo and Battleship ended their friendship due to this.

Battleship, still angry at the Hair Kingdom, joined the empire to become its very enemy: a Hair Hunter. As Bobobo trained for 20 years to get strong, Battleship worked his way up till he was a Heavenly King. The Czar may have respected him, but Battleship wanted more. To that end, he secretly plotted with his minions to control the government. During those years he met Suzu, a blonde psychic who would be his second in command and destroyed countless villages. After 20 years, Bobobo meets Battleship while fighting the remaining Fist of Nose Hair users and does not recognize him. Battleship had changed completely from the black haired boy who looked like Softon to a large man with a yellow beard and a ridiculously large ducktail hairstyle. The two of them fought their battle using the Fist of the Nose Hair, ending in a draw. Battleship later befriends a Flower Man who was soon killed by the Flower Demons. Angry at this, he kills all of the Flower Demons' assassins, and is currently on the Flower Demon King hit list. Recently, he took an interest in Gasser. He had become a leader of a massive army of powerful warriors, still awaiting Bobobo to finally pay him back for taking what he rightfully deserves.

Batleship uses the fifth greatest power in the Empire, the Personalized Fist of the Nosehair. (The stronger ones are Kitty-Poo's powers, Fist of Ultimately Evil Sword, Fist of Gorgeousness, and Fist of Object D'Art, controlled by Kitty-Poo, OVER, Halekulani and Giga respectively.) Though it may be a slight copy of Bobobo's Fist of Nosehair, it is indeed powerful enough to wipe out enemies easily. Battleship mastered this art so that even his ducktail hair style can be used as a weapon. He has also mastered a Fist that allows control over the Earth Defense to destroy his enemies. Like Bobobo he can also fuse with his allies, but it results in an absolutely pathetic form. Still, Bobobo and company had to train in Babylon to defeat him.

Battleship is sinister, as he exploits Gasser's weakness for Beauty, and he destroys countless towns and his own fellow Hair Hunters. He gets a bit emotional prior to his defeat, and doesn't get to say anything after the Pomade Ring Arc. It is later revealed that he has a button inside of him that makes his hair become really long, as Bobobo and company use it to get to Hydrate during the Reverse Maruhage Empire Arc. Battleship is voiced by Ryūzaburō Ōtomo in Japanese and Paul St. Peter in English.

Kittypoo

Kittypoo (プルプー, Purupu in the original Japanese version) is a horned cat-faced creature who is also the second of the Chrome Dome Empire Big 4. He fights like the Dragon Ball Z villain Freeza, to the point of flying around in a craft and mercilessly eliminating his enemies just like the famed manga tyrant. According to him, he's so powerful that even his servants Chocolate Munchie and Lemon Fizz are stronger than Captain Battleship. However, he is easily defeated by Don Patch shortly after he is introduced in both the anime and the manga. He is a participant in the new emperor playoffs, and is used as a sacrifice by the Reverse Maruhage. Kittypoo is best described as a reserved tyrant who is very polite despite his lust to kill. He is very strategic, as he learned all of Bobobo's weaknesses and strengths. He is the only Heavenly King to have no major arc in the series. (with his defeat coming between Bo-bobo meeting Hatenko and the blond's invitation to the Evil House of Blood, allowing him to watch his "boss" Don Patch defeat Kittypoo) His bodyguards include Chocolate Bar, Lemonade Fizz and Curry. Kittypoo is voiced by Ryusei Nakao in Japanese and Liam O'Brien in English.

OVER

OVER (オーバー Ōbā?) is the ruthless third member of Chrome Dome Empire Big 4, the four elite members of Czar Baldy Bald the Fourth's Hair Hunting corp. Unlike many Hair Hunters outside those seen much earlier in the series, OVER takes his job of ripping the hair out of the subjects of the Maruhage Empire extremely seriously and will treat all in his gaze as prey. This harshness for his job includes the treatment of his own teammates, as seen by his scalping of both Gunkan and Kitty Poo after their failures against Bo-bobo and the Hajike rebels. Although OVER can and will attack with little or no notice, he mostly controls his hair hunting activities from an ancient Japanese castle, where he controls a platoon of various ninja-like warriors including The Ultimate Five Assassins, who themselves are known for their stealth and abilities.

Halekulani

(ハレクラニ): Halekulani is the last and the strongest of Czar Baldy Bald's Chrome Dome Empire Big 4. He is the owner of the Holy Guacamole Land amusement park. His main attack style is the Fist of Gorgeousness. This involves the control and manipulation of all monetary items, from coins to paper money to precious jewels. One of the most devastating of these attacks include wrapping his opponent with paper bills to transform them into what they are worth. He can also send opponents into a world based on the board game sugoroku and power up his "Gorgeous Shinken"(ゴルヅヤ-ス 真拳 Super Fist of Gorgeousness in the dub) abilities by fusing with the many precious gems he can collect all over his armor. His personality is more realistic then the rest of the Big 4, not making a big deal of the intruders and giving the impression of a bored trillionaire. He even begins to doze off as Bobobo and his allies struggle to reach him to fight. He has been shown to be cruel as he told a soldier to make the slaves work harder till they made a millions worth of money. He is obsessed with money, even to the point he can insane saying money repeately in a crazed stance. He later becomes a key ally in the fight against the Reverse Maruhage Empire after losing to Crimson and LOVE in the new emperor playoffs. Halekulani mentions he was a man with a difficult choice 20 years ago, a man named Czar Baldy-Bald the 4th decided to help him by giving him what would define his life. During those years, he eventually got bored and left the Empire. Halekulani eventually returned to his boring career as head of Holy Guacamole amusement park and find a future friend in Bobobo. Halekulani manipulates his money much like how Gaara from Naruto manipulates his sand, using his own will. He also makes his first appearance bathing in money. Halekulani is voiced by Shinichiro Miki in Japanese and Joe Cappelletti in English.

Giga

(ギガ): The leader of the prison island of Cyber City, the most powerful district of the Bald Empire, and Czar Baldy Bald's right hand man (though this could be seen as blackmailing). His main ability is the power of "Obuje Shinken" (Fist of Objects オブジエ 真拳, dub: "Fist of Object D'Art"), which allows for the creation of pieces of art that he uses to attack. This ability also allows him to transform enemies, particularly those with "Shinken" abilities, into art both for his collection and to assist him in powering up upon breaking them. After absorbing many of his creations, he is able to transform into "Super Giga", which has more powerful armor and much longer pigtailed hair. Bo-bobo finally puts a stop to him with the ultimate powers of "Hanage Shinken". He is also a participant in the new emperor playoffs, where he is crushed off-screen by Crimson, and he gets beaten by Hiragi in Shinsetsu Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. He is 34 yrs. old. He is known for his supreme over-confidence to the point that he feels that when he fights that he doesn't even need a super fist. Giga is voiced by Tomokazu Seki in Japanese and David Lodge in English.

Czar Baldy Bald the III

(ツル・ツルリーナ3世 Tsuru Tsurulina 3-Sei): The old emperor of the Margarita Empire, locked away within the center of "Neo Hair-Hunt Land MAX" (ネオ毛狩りランドMAX, Neo Kegari Rando MAX, an amusement park thrown right on top of the old A-Block Amusement Park). Although he appears to be human, he is actually a cyborg. He uses "Red Magic Shinken" (真紅の手品真拳 Fist of Red Magic, read as "Reddo Majikku Shinken," which creates attacks based on magic tricks) to avoid the attacks of his enemies and attack them back physically, and "Blue Magic Shinken" (高型の手品真拳 Fist of Blue Magic, read as "Burū Majikku Shinken", released only within a special universe he creates through a magic handkerchief) to destroy souls and minds. Unlike the current emperor, who wants everyone to be bald, Czar Baldy Bald III wants to destroy all humans and then get the "Hair Ball", the source of power of the Hair Kingdom which gives them their hair abilities, for himself. He absorbs Bobobo, thinking he may be able to obtain it that way, and also absorbs Don Patch (since Bo-bobo wants a travel buddy), eventually changing into a very strange form. Bobobo and Don Patch manage to escape from inside him, and then defeat him once and for all with a technique, named the "Human Highlife in HD", showcasing all the wonderful things about life and being a human (such as getting a job, falling in love, etc.) At the end of "Part 1", Czar Baldy Bald the 3rd finally gains a "Hair Ball" and takes advantage of a vacuum in power, becoming emperor and declaring this land as the "Neo Maruhage Empire."

After many trials and tribulations, Bo-bobo's team faces him one final time at his headquarters: the Shueisha building in his final battleground of "Tokyo's 23rd Ward". Although still fighting with the power of the "Red Magic Shinken", he was now more powerful both with the combination of a Hair Ball, his eventual successor, Tsuru Tsurulina the Fifth (Yononaka Namerō)! After a long and drawn out battle with Bo-bobo and his allies giving everything they've got to stop him and his protege, he ends up taking several ultimate attacks culminating with Bo-bobo smashing him with "a weak arm chop", finally destroying him once and for all. His final words were in celebration of the Chrome Dome Empire he had created and how others will still rise to fight against Bo-bobo and his rebels. Czar Baldy Bald III is voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu in Japanese and David Lodge in English.

Hydrate

(ハイドレート): Known as the "Dark Emperor", he is the mad leader of the Reverse Chrome Dome Empire that exists underground beneath the castle of the real Maruhage Empire. In actuality, Hydrate is also the little brother of Czar Baldy Bald the Fourth, forced into the shadows due to his brother becoming the emperor of the country. Through training alongside "Landmine Dandy" (the father of Torpedo Girl), he eventually became a master of "Ashi no Ura Shinken" (Fist of Foot Sole), allowing him to attack his opponents with the empowered soles of his feet! But it was not enough to defeat the 4th, who eventually threw him away into the "Dark World", where he eventually established his own empire and army to take down his brother and the people of the surface! But eventually, he is defeated by the combined power of Bo-bobo and Super Patch. He is 38 yrs old. On the sidenote, he is the last seen enemy at the end of the anime. Hydrate is voiced by Shigeru Chiba in Japanese and Kirk Thornton in English.

Bibibi-bi Bi-bibi

(ビビビービ ビービビ) The second child of the Five Hair Siblings (older brother to Bu-bubu, Be-bebe and Bo-bobo, but younger than Ba-baba), he is the leader of the "New Hair Kingdom" and the final opponent of the first part of the Bo-bobo manga. Although he is the second child, he is the master of the most powerful of the five hair-based Shinken: "Kami no Ge Shinken" (Fist of Head Hair), allowing him the control of the hair of his head and the ability to stop other hair abilities such as nosehair or leghair. Under his domination, the Hair Kingdom suddenly finds itself as the most advanced civilization in the world, advancing a thousand years in technology within twenty years! However, due to his control of the land, he found resistance from his own sister Bububu-bu Bu-bubu, who eventually recruited Bo-bobo and his team to her side when they return to the kingdom. His first battle encounter with Bo-bobo occurs when he possesses First-Hair General Bird of Paradise, taking over his body and allowing him to use the "Kami no Ge Shinken" to fight brothers Bo-bobo and Be-bebe. Although he seems to knock out the "Hanage Shinken" and "Sunege Shinken" abilities of both, it is ultimately revealed that they ended up putting nose hairs and leg hairs amidst the hair on his head, creating a "hair peace" between the three and allowing for the Shinken to be sealed and victory. Later, after all of his other forces have been delt with by his siblings and the other members of Bo-bobo's squad, Bi-bibi reveals the truth to everyone: he was the one that had started the "Hair Hunt" (even directing the Maruhage Empire to do so from afar) after finding out that Bo-bobo was going to be the next king of the Hair Kingdom! It is here that he also reveals his true Shinken ability: "Kegari Shinken" (Fist of the Hair Hunt), an ability that allows him to manipulate many giant hands that both rip off hair and can even steal the Hair Balls from citizens of the Hair Kingdom! This ability also allows him to use the "Hair Pin", an extremely powerful rapier-like weapon that is lethal to Hair warriors. The ensuing battle with his young brother Bo-bobo has the two of them fighting over the Hair Balls of Bu-bubu, Be-bebe and Hatenko, leading to the afro-warrior sacrificing himself after the death of his sister Bu-bubu! With Bo-bobo dead, the remaining warriors try to stop Bi-bibi, but not even the power of Bo-bobo's glasses (controlling Beauty) or a more powerful Ikarin Patch can stop the hair warrior! But suddenly, at the bleakest moment, Bo-bobo returns to the fight, recharged by the power of dead Hajikelists and empowered now by the "Landmine Ball" of Landmine Dandy. It is with this power, as well as the power of his greatest allies, that allow Bo-bobo to put a stop to Bi-bibi once and for all! But while he lays defeated, Tennosuke leads Bo-bobo to keep his brother alive for the sake of his two young daughters. (amazingly, as powerful and evil as Bi-bibi is, he's a good father) The same mercy was not given, though, by Tsuru Tsurulina the 3rd, who ultimately kills Bi-bibi by stealing his Hair Ball and uses it to obtain the power he desires to rule again. However, once Tsurulina the Third was finally destroyed, the Hair Ball returned to its rightful owner and Bi-bibi found himself revived. Yet all he could think of with his life restored was to wait for Bo-bobo to return home once again... he is the only enemy that managed to seriously defeat ( not to mention kill) Bobobo.

Maruhage Empire

In itself, the Maruhage Empire gains its infamy for many powerful warriors who guide the twenty-six major blocks as well as various levels of assassins and higher management. Their levels of power go from minor grunts whom shave hair for the block leaders to some that are just as powerful as the strongest Hair Hunt troops of any era! Even several of Bo-bobo's allies start off working for the empire, taking part in the reign of terror before joining in his chaotic rebellion.

This is a list of the general villains of the current Maruhage Empire from the anime/manga series, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. This list mainly consist of Hair Hunters, along with block leaders and assassins.

Background

The main antagonist group of the series come in four respective versions: the Former Maruhage Empire, Current Maruhage Empire, Reverse Maruhage Empire And Neo Maruhage Empire, though the current was controlled by the Hair Kingdom's Bibibi. With the exception of the Maruhage Four Heavenly Kings and Cyber City; the empire is organized in alphabetical order with a few exceptional bases including Wiggin, Robo and River Blocks. As it is naturally expected, A is organized as the strongest and Z is supposedly the weakest. The strongest are seven membered group of Elite Hair Hunters including Babylon user Softon, Wobble-Wobble user Jelly Jiggler, wind master Geha and Fist-absorber Katsu. There is also several assassins of minor or great skill that eliminate those who are a threat. Finally the Empire is led by the current (and very weak) Czar Baldy-Bald and a few high commanders like Telu. There are few exceptions that are neither with the original 26 blocks that are usually weaker than the rest. (dub:name Chrome Dome Empire)

Leader

Tsuru Tsurulina the IV/Czar Baldy Bald the IV/Smoothie the IV:Tsuru Tsurulina the IV / Czar Baldy Bald/Smoothie the IV (viz manga) (ツル・ツルリーナ4世?) is the leader of the Chrome Dome Empire (マルハゲ帝国 Maruhage Empire?, lit. baldshaven empire), though the anime changes this from the "Margarita Empire" (similar to the drink Margarita). He is undoubtedly the weakest of his empire shown as a cowardly strategist and was the primary villain until the Reverse Maruhage Empire arc. He is 42 yrs. old. Tsuru Tsurulina IV is voiced by Taiki Matsuno in Japanese and Terrence Stone in English.

Captain Battleship & Pomade Ring

Based out of a flying fortress hanging over Gasser's home town of Poo-Poo City, Captain Battleship leads an enigmatic fight against both his former friend Bo-bobo and even his Chrome Dome taskmasters. His crew consists of his own squadron of grunts, several monsterous assassins as well as his own personal battle team of The Battleship Five Quartet. (who occasionally number in six)

The first and weakest of Tsurulina the Fourth's Four Heavenly Kings (though he was the only one to be equal to Bobobo's strength before the World of Babylon training), Captain Battleship appears to be the most loyal and obedient of the Maruhage forces, fighting against threats to his reign such as Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo and Gasser. However, outside the exterior of a Hair Hunter is an enigmatic man: one part nose hair manipulator, one part Wiggin, and completely against anyone who gets in the way of his own ambitions. Twisted by his childhood in the Hair Kingdom (of which he was not a citizen), Battleship fights against the enemies of the Maruhage Empire...while subsequently fighting against the Maruhage as well, believing that they get in the way of his ultimate ambitions of ruling an empire of his own! And yet even with all of his battles and desires, his ultimate obstacle is Bo-bobo, his self proclaimed greatest rival. With Bo-bobo both a former friend and an enemy against the Maruhage Empire in his own right, his battles become personal as he tries to defeat him not for the empire's desires...but for his own pride.

Because Captain Battleship is technically a Maruhage warrior, he has been provided the resources of the empire to help him on his own battles. His main headquarters is the Pomade Ring, a massive floating ring fortress he can transport towards anywhere in the world where he wishes to fight. Because of recent activities in crushing rebels in Gasser's hometown of Puppu City, the Pomade Ring is mostly seen floating above that area keeping watch on the former battleground. Within the fortress, Battleship is found leading a massive militia of warriors, including a loyal female vice-leader, his own personal army who fight for him and maintain the Pomade Ring as well as two monstrous assassins who go after rebels of the empire at his command. Battleship's most loyal warriors, though, are The Battleship Five Quartet, a squadron of five (sort of) warriors kept masked until the moment they enter battle, upon which they reveal some of the strangest and more powerful warriors in the empire.

Leader

Captain Batleship (軍艦?, Gunkan in the Japanese version and the English Viz Media manga) is the first of the Chrome Dome Empire Big Four, under Czar Baldy-Bald. He is also Bo-bobo's former friend and sworn rival. This regent-haired, white bearded fighter had also been trained in the Fist of the Nose Hair alongside Bo-bobo in the Kingdom of Hair, but turned against his afro-haired friend when Bo-bobo was chosen as the Seventh Master of the Fist of the Nose Hair by their teacher (a juice can). Bo-bobo was chosen over Battleship because Captain Battleship was not a citizen of the Hair Kingdom. Captain Battleship controls his vast military forces from the "Pomade Ring", a sky fortress flying over the destroyed Puppu City (Gasser's hometown).

Battleship Five Quartet

Gunkan's Five Great Warriors (軍艦5人衆 Gunkan Go-Ninshū?) The five elite warriors of Gunkan's forces (who occasionally number in six), all of them remain hidden under cloaks and masks until the moment each one goes into battle. When Bo-bobo's team infiltrate the Pomade Ring, they must fight each one one-on-one based on the warp panel chosen (though Gasser almost fights all six at once at one point). Though only two of them lost (only one lost in the manga); they overpowered the rest of the team by stupidity (Loincloth Lloyd), obvious size difference (Tough-Looking Guy), and better to eat (Gum). Like Bobobo, his elite are a bunch of utterly random characters that just happen to appear in the series (for example, a piece of gum, an insanely large man, a calendar, a torn page of a calendar, a muscular man with a cat head, and a Kinnikuman like boy with a loincloth). Among the members are:

Militia

As a Heavenly King, Gunkan has an army of weird and powerful warriors under him including two assassins, a special forces unit, a loyal female second in command and a sheet wearing guardian.

OVER's Ninja Assassin Corp

The chaotic OVER (also known for a more infamous name and form) leads the most brutal segment of the Hair Hunt troops, unashamed of whom they have to scalp to get their way. This team takes advantage of various styles of ninjutsu and assassination techniques, mainly perfected by his squad of The Ultimate Five Assassins (some of whom don't even appear that ninja-like).

of the empire's forces. OVER himself is a force to be reckoned with: a powerful being evil in the eye who crushes opponents either with his massive pair of scissors or through his trial combat with anyone who gets in his way. Those who encounter OVER have one of two fates befall them: they become scalped out of OVER's loyalty to Baldy-Bald the Fourth...or they die. The most horrific means of death revolves around his usage of a special "Kill Seal" that saps away the power of anyone touched by it until they become nothing but a husk of their former self. Perhaps even scarier than OVER, though, is another form he takes which is much more powerful and demonic than even the scissor-wielding warrior.

Working underneath the rule of OVER is a unique group of assassins, specializing in various means of assassination skills and team tactics. Based out of their leader's samurai castle headquarters, the assassins use various cutthroat tactics such as manipulation, deception and ninjutsu to turn the battle towards their favor. While there are several independents working for OVER, his main squad of these warriors are The Ultimate Five Assassins, a team of unique ninja warriors who each fight in their own means, particularly to guard his castle from any intruders who may disturb him from his work.

Leader

Over (オーバー Ōbā?) is the ruthless third member of "Four Heavenly Kings"/Chrome Dome Empire Big 4, the four elite members of Tsuru Tsurulina the Fourth (Czar Baldy Bald the Fourth)'s Hair Hunting corp. (whom also includes Gunkan/Captain Battleship, Puruppu/Kitty Poo and Halekulani) Unlike many Hair Hunters outside those seen much earlier in the series, OVER takes his job of ripping the hair out of the subjects of the Maruhage Empire extremely seriously and will treat all in his gaze as prey. This harshness for his job includes the treatment of his own teammates, as seen by his scalping of both Gunkan and Kitty Poo after their failures against Bo-bobo and the Hajike rebels. Although OVER can and will attack with little or no notice, he mostly controls his hair hunting activities from an ancient Japanese castle, where he controls a platoon of various ninja-like warriors including The Five Hidden Killers (dub: The Ultimate Five Assassins), who themselves are known for their stealth and abilities.

OVER's main attack style is the usage of an immense pair of scissors in conjunction with his main fist attack style of Gokuaku Zanketsu Shinken. (極悪斬血真拳 Fist of Horrible Bloody Murder, dub: Fist of the Ultimately Evil Sword). The main attack ability of this style is slashing an opponent with the scissors like a sword to cause as much pain and damage as possible. (in the anime, this was changed to the summoning of a purple energy ball on the scissors which he aims to hit his opponent) Similarly, he can also summon more scissors when he drops one pair, usually to throw at an opponent like a projectile.

As brutal as his main techniques are, OVER does not just attack with his battle ability, but also with the ability to kill an opponent from the inside out. If he (or his alter ego) attacks an opponent in a certain way, a special "Kill Seal" (dub: Death Mark) is placed on them, similar in formation to OVER's own symbol. Anyone with this mark on their body will slowly have their power drained by it, weakening them to the point of their own death. The power of the Kill Seal is so powerful that the only way to stop it is to defeat OVER, removing it from all afflicted. It is revealed that OVER is 25 yrs old, which for some reason is three years younger than Torpedo Girl.

The Ultimate Five Assassins

The Five Hidden Killers (必殺五忍衆 Hissatsu Go-Ninshū?, The Ultimate Five Assassins) Like Captain Battleship, OVER has a team of five warriors working for him and protecting his castle headquarters. But while Captain Battleship's team was a team of weirdos hidden away in masks and cloaks, OVER's is a team of weirdos using various assassin and ninja maneuvers to fight their opponents. Among the members are:

Assassins

This is a list of villains in the anime/manga, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, that reside in Holy Guacamole Land.

Halekulani & Holy Guacamole (Hallelujah) Land

Although the most powerful of Baldy-Bald's Big Four, Halekulani's concerns are less for the empire and more for the gain of his own personal wealth. That's why he runs the infamous Holy Guacamole Land amusement park, (named "Hallelujah Land" in the manga series) where he both milks everyone out of every cent they own and leads a squadron of hitmen to make sure everyone gives their fair pay. His most infamous team is A Few Dangerous Thugs, a squadron of his three (well sort of) most powerful warriors.

Background

The man known as Halekulani is unquestionably the most powerful of Czar Baldy-Bald's Big Four, powerful enough to easily crush any of his boss' enemies with little effort. However, as powerful as he may be, this warrior has no interest in Baldy-Bald or his Hair Hunt. The main focus and obsession of his own, personal life...is money. Money is Halekulani's pride and joy: making it, bathing in it and even mastering a powerful Fist style that uses his riches as his weapon. It is no wonder that his monetary obsessions has led to him becoming the leader of Holy Guacamole Land (original name: Hallelujah Land), the most popular and profitable amusement park in the empire! Connected through the empire's transportation network, Halekulani allows for easy access and availability for all who wish to entertain themselves. But there's a cost for all who go there: every single attraction comes with a fee, forcing everyone to add to Halekulani's already tremendous wealth. And at the very moment the attraction no longer makes profits, the mad leader cuts his loses by blowing it up (even if people are still inside!).

For the further obedience and collection of his ultimate desire in his park, Halekulani controls a platoon of minions who enforce the law in the park, clamping down on troubles and making sure his profits continue to come in. These assassins are placed all over the park, even to the point of the trains that transport potential customers inside. The most powerful of these warriors is a group known as A Few Dangerous Thugs (original name: Hell Killers), a team of three who take out the particularly pesky nuisances causing a disturbance in Holy Guacamole Land, beating them up and then showing them the door...if they're not dead first. Although most troubles are handled with little problem, the arrival of Bo-bobo's team gives the money master and his squadron of minions their work cut out for them.

Later after Halekulani's defeat, Bobobo, Don Patch, and Jelly Jiggler decide to rebuild Holy Guacamole Land and called it Jiggly Land, we they use rubber gloves for landscaping and charge tourists with jars of jelly for admission. 30 minutes later, Bobobo states that they tourists showed up, but they couldn't pay their taxes with jars of jelly, so they had to close the park down. This was merely a Wiggin' joke that was probably forgotten about since they were working on the park the same time as their ally Gasser got captured by Wan Ronga and taken to Cyber City. However, we do see later that Halekulani returns to his park and retains control even after his own defeat.

Leader

Halekulani (ハレクラニ?) is the last and the strongest of Czar Baldy Bald's Chrome Dome Empire Big 4.

A Few Dangerous Thugs

A Few Dangerous Thugs (ヘル・キラーズ Hell Killers?) Just like Captain Battleship and OVER before him, these are officially the main underlings of Halekulani: three killer assassins working within the confines of Hallelujah Land sent down to take out any intruders to the park...such as Bo-bobo. Among the members are:

Giga & Cyber City

As leader of the technologically advanced Cyber City, Giga uses his power and connections to enhance his own artistic talents as well as give fair justice to those who commit crimes against the empire. His Six Cyber Knights lead various punishment zones of the island, whereas he personally deals with any Fist manipulators in the name of his art.

Background

There are rebels though not as major as Bobobo, they still provide some menace to the government so when being shaved isn't enough then they are given a life sentence to Cyber City. A hellish, cybernitic prison island made right in the middle of the ocean it is where most of the rebels of Czar Baldy Bald the 4th are imprisoned and shaved of their hair; the jail masters even design sporting events to gamble on and set an example to all who challennge the Chrome Dome Empire of its merciless nature. Even if you tried to escape, it is so far that very few animals are able to travel there. This prison metropolis is led by Giga the second in command of the 4th an art master who is accompanied by two beautiful women and is just as strong as the current Emperor! The insane king of Cyber City has 6 major guards known as the 6 Cyber Knights who are rumored to be as powerful as the Chrome Dome Big 4 and one is powerful enough to give unlimited energy to keep the metropolis running. Giga and his servants woulldn't expect resistance from a gang of weird creatures, powerful nosehair... and a blonde singing girl popstar named Denbo (okay she's just two guys put together).

Cyber City Ruler

The 6 Electric Brain Warriors

The 6 Electric Brain Warriors (天脳6闘騎士 Tennō Roku Tōkishi?, The Six Cyber Knights) Six powerful underlings of Giga, each of whom controls one of the various execution stands in Cyber City. Each of these is televised to the locals to make examples of them to the others. oddly, each of the members (except pana) is a couterpart of another character. The members are:

Czar Baldy Bald the 3rd & The Former Chrome Dome

One-hundred years ago, Czar Baldy-Bald the Third lead an armada that made the Chrome Dome Empire the most powerful in the world. But at their height, they froze themselves in cryogenic slumber to awaken just when Baldy-Bald the Fourth needs them. Based out of a special amusement park constructed on their behalf, the magical leader leads his own platoon of block leaders, ranging from living ice cream and fishcake to manipulators of plants, dreams, even dimensional constructs!

Background

One century before the start of the series, the Maruhage Empire was one of many countries on planet Earth: a small country of little notice. However, it was at this time that a new, powerful emperor took control of the country. This emperor was Tsuru Tsurulina the Third (dub: Czar Baldy-Bald the Third), a madman with a fierce xenophobia of humanity and a desire to conquer and destroy all. Gathering the most powerful soldiers and forces in the empire, he sparked an invasion that would not stop under any circumstance. Within three days of the start of the invasion, Tsurulina the Third and the Maruhage Empire had conquered nearly the entire world! They now ruled over the entire population and controlled it with an iron fist, dividing their conquerings into twenty-six blocks, each ruled by one of the generals who took part in the invasion.[1]

However, even with control of practically the entire Earth, Tsurulina the Third wanted more. In particular, he became interested in one country that had remained unconquered during his three-day reign of terror: the Hair Kingdom, a small kingdom filled with creatures that resembled hair follicles...as well as a couple of humanoids. When the Maruhage Empire proceeded to invade the Hair Kingdom, warriors protected it with an internal artifact known as the Hair Ball, which gave them amazing powers and abilities. Tsurulina became obsessed with obtaining a Hair Ball to the point of invading the Hair Kingdom, yet always failed to make a dent in conquering the land and obtaining the power for himself.[2] To further solidify his troops into defeating the hair menace, the emperor would declare "Hair Hunts", where his soldiers and generals would scour the countryside making every man, woman and child bald. Several other lands other than the Hair Kingdom remained out of reach to the Maruhage Empire, including the defiance of the similarly chaotic Shigeki Kingdom led by the enigmatic Shigeki X.[3]

However, at the height of their power, with the world under their finger and complete authoritarian rule, Tsurulina and his entire Maruhage force did something unexpected: they disappeared. In particular, the emperor, his generals and all the Maruhage soldiers sealed themselves into a cryogenic chamber and froze themselves. The assumption was that with the world completely under the Maruhage Empire, no one would stand to face them and that they would rise once again when their rule was under threat. For one hundred years, the chamber holding the old soldiers remained undisturbed underground while the Maruhage Empire they built continued to exist unopposed by any forces.

Around one-hundred years after their freezing, the seal to their cryogenic chamber broke and the chamber rose to the surface once more. A new emperor, Tsuru Tsurulina the Fourth (Czar Baldy-Bald the Fourth) now ruled the empire. However, the land that these ancient generals built was under threat: a band of weird rebels led by Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, a warrior from the Hair Kingdom, was plowing through the forces of the modern Maruhage, taking out generals and even the most powerful of the Fourth's warriors. Although the current emperor seemed scared at first that his more powerful predecessors had returned from cryogenic sleep, he saw this as a double fold opportunity for himself: the warriors from a hundred years ago were much more powerful than his own and they would immediately go after the warrior from the Hair Kingdom causing him trouble! Allowing the warriors to do as they desire, they return once again to fight against the rebels...not knowing of the weird and powerful opponents they were about to face.[4]

Their most common technique is Turbo Trio Salva, which allows any of three block leaders to create a very powerful attack. (dub:Fomer Chrome Dome Empire)

Seven Main Block Leaders

Like the modern Maruhage Empire, the Maruhage Empire of one-hundred years ago was primarily divided into twenty-six letter blocks. Similarly, the seven most powerful of these generals lead the seven most powerful blocks (A Block to G Block) and likewise became the main leaders of the many other generals in the modern battles. Four of them lead specific areas of the Neo-Hair Hunt Land MAX, an amusement park constructed by Baldy-Bald the Fourth just for their own usage. A fifth member, Rem, unofficially lead another of the attractions, but was not consciously awake when place around that area. Lambada, who chose to work on his own instead of leading an attraction, eventually joins in the attraction led by Rem...but though he is more powerful than the true leader of the attraction, he merely becomes one of the combatants inside. The last of these seven woke early and lead an advanced team of former Hair Hunters in the modern world.

Other Block Leaders

Like the modern Maruhage, nineteen further Hair-Hunt blocks existed during the former era. As they awoke into this time, the major block leaders recruited several of them to assist in the Sangaria matches against Bo-bobo's troops. Those who weren't chosen ended up assisting on less-major attractions such as the merry-go-round, which is primarily ruled by three block leaders without any true leadership.

Hair Hunters

Although a massive platoon of former Hair Hunters were frozen alongside Tsurulina the Third and the generals, many of them were of no significance to the story. All of the Hair Hunters in this list are notable due to waking prior to the main group of former Hair Hunters, with many of them joining Rose-Lily Kikunojo's initial assault. The exception to that group are the two Associate Hair Hunters, who remained in the chamber when Tsurulina the Fourth investigated the return of his predecessors.

Hydrate & the Reverse Chrome Dome

Deep below the surface of the Earth, a mysterious Dark World exists unknown to nearly all but a few. Within this world is a Reverse Chrome Dome Empire, whose leader, a man known as Hydrate, once lived on the surface and wishes to return topside as Chrome Dome emperor! Although he mostly rules alongside various local citizens with powerful Dark Fist styles, his entourage also includes the infamous "Catharsis of Babylon" and...Bo-bobo's older brother!?

Background

Way, way below the surface of the Earth, below the feet of the commoners and powerful of the Maruhage Empire, there is another Maruhage Empire. A Reverse Maruhage Empire (dub: Shadow Chrome Dome Empire) ruled in parallel to the original, controlled by evil, dominating forces who keep authority to those who live in the underground. This Maruhage Empire even has a powerful, maniacal leader similar to the dominative power of Baldy-Bald the Third: a man known as Hydrate. This emperor used to live on the surface once, but had been banished to the deep, dark below due to his own ambitions. Ever since his banishment, Hydrate has had only one thing on his mind: revenge against the ones who sent him away and to claim his self-proclaimed birthright to be leader of the real Maruhage Empire.

As powerful as Hydrate is on his own, he isn't the only one fighting against the forces of the surface. The beings who live in the Dark World where his Reverse empire is located are notorious for the powers and techniques they possess within their grasp. The four members of the Reverse Maruhage Four Heavenly Kings (dub: The Shadow Big Four) in particular are masters of a special style of technique known as Yamiken, which may seem similar to Shinken abilities of the surface but with the advantages of greater power and the ability to upgrade using the style to a more powerful formation. Furthermore, Hydrate have two side men he brought along (or abducted in one case) with him, both of whom are masters of Fist styles even more powerful than the Yamiken of their underground peers and whose only purpose is the success of the future Maruhage emperor. Yet as the plot between the two worlds slowly comes to fruition, Hydrate and his minions do not expect the resistance they would face on his road to complete domination.

Table of Sacrifices

The Table of Sacrifices (生け贄板 Ikenieban?) is an artifact summoned by the Three Sacks in order to raise the Yamiking and its master, Hydrate, to the surface. Typically, a being from the Reverse Maruhage can only individually teleport back and forth between dimensions (we see when Crimson, LOVE and the Sacks return to the Dark World, they use a teleporter that allows them to raise and fall between the surface). An object such as the Yamiking needs a lot of energy to rise up to the main world compared to the limited amount of energy that individuals can use. Thus, the Table of Sacrifices is needed to gather energy from twelve individuals (in the form of a clock) to power the Yamiking. After the Sacks summon the clock, Crimson and LOVE throw over defeated opponents (already known to be really strong since they made it to the final stage of the Maruhage New Emperor Playoff) into each number, with the assumption that their great energy will siphon from the clock to the Yamiking. After the Yamiking rises to the surface, the clock disappears but the sacrifices remained drained of their power, turning weak and powerless until the castle, and likewise Hydrate, are defeated.

Hydrate (ハイドレート?) Known as the "Dark Emperor", he is the mad leader of the Reverse Chrome Dome Empire that exists underground beneath the castle of the real Maruhage Empire. But it was not enough to defeat the 4th, who eventually threw him away into the "Dark World", where he eventually established his own empire and army to take down his brother and the people of the surface world. Alongside his Shinken, he also uses various armors to assist him such as the "Nyan Nyan Armor" (a set of cat pajamas), the "Fat-Raising Armor" (a bra) and his ultimate "Dark Necros" Armor! Taking advantage of the "New Emperor Playoff" being held by his older brother, Hydrate uses his warriors to infiltrate the tournament and steal the energy of the strongest warriors to raise his "Floating Castle Yamiking" and immediately declaring himself Tsuru Tsurulina the 5th (Czar Baldy-Bald the 5th) upon seizing the throne from his deserting brother! But eventually, he is defeated by the combined power of Bo-bobo and Super Patch. He is 38 yrs old. On the sidenote, he is the last seen enemy at the end of the anime. He is voiced by Shigeru Chiba in Japanese and Kirk Thornton in English.

Reverse Block Leaders

Hydrate's Right & Left Hand Men

Bibibi-bi Bi-bibi and the Hair Kingdom

After the Chrome Dome invasion twenty years earlier, the Hair Kingdom had a vacuum in its control. This vacuum was filled by the evil Bibibi-bi Bi-bibi, another of Bo-bobo's brothers who both enhanced the land while turning it into a police state. In the midst of fighting against his sister Bububu-bu Bu-bubu, Bi-bibi leads a platoon of warriors to protect his kingdom from invaders. The most infamous: the First Hair Lion's Resolve 16, the sixteen district leaders who include warriors, assassins, contest winners and a chaotic being even feared by Baldy-Bald the Third!

Background

The Hair Kingdom is one of the few stable nations left on Earth not absorbed within the Maruhage Empire. A peaceful yet slightly barren country, most of its citizens are, not surprisingly, small hair creatures who appear like little balls with one hair sticking up and a face on the base of the follicle. However, several of the citizens of this land are humanoid beings who not only have hair but are gifted with the power of "Hair" deep within themselves! The source of power for the humanoids is a special orb known as a Hair Ball, located deep within the chest cavity and allowing the being to use their abilities. Usually the power controlled by one with a Hair Ball involves the control and manipulation of hair, but there have been exceptions regarding another skill utilized merely powered by the Hair Ball. (such as Hatenko's Fist of Key). If the Hair Ball is destroyed, the humanoid will die immediately.

As peaceful as the Hair Kingdom has been, there have been moments of turmoil that threaten its safety and security. One hundred years ago, an army from the Maruhage Empire under the leadership of Tsuru Tsurulina the Third (Czar Baldy-Bald the Third) invaded the kingdom, expecting little resistance from those who lived there. No one from the massive empire expected a dramatic resistance by the beings of the Hair Kingdom: powered by their Hair Balls and using remarkable abilities, the warriors of hair resisted and removed the threat of the Maruhage, restoring peace to the barren wasteland nation. After victory, no further threats emerged to threaten the kingdom at that time.

As the years passed and the peace remained in the Hair Kingdom, a new generation of humanoid children were born: five of the same father, all of whom left with the guard of protecting their homeland. These five would eventually be known as the Five Hair Children. Each of these children would eventually take up one of the five separate Hair-style fists, separate in location of follicle manipulation but equal in power and ability:

There was great tension even early on between the Hair Children, particularly between the younger and older siblings. Both Ba-baba and Bi-bibi exhibited tremendous evil auras in front of their younger siblings, making them scared to face up to the possible threat their brothers possessed. Similarly, tension was shown in the training of certain Hair styles between those born of the kingdom and those who weren't. Although Bo-bobo trained with his friend Captain Battleship in the Nose Hair style, he became its master because of his birthright within the Hair Kingdom.

One day, twenty years ago, everything came to a head. A new king was to be chosen of the Hair Children of the one who possessed the great seal of the nation, and it was Bo-bobo who held it. Older brother Bi-bibi became jealous of his youngest brother, believing himself as the only one to lead the nation. Taking advantage of the leadership of the Maruhage Empire and their back history, a new Hair Hunt started with the Hair Kingdom as their initial target. Within days, soldiers scoured the countryside in search of hair to pluck, human or follicle. In the midst of the chaos, special escape pods were set up in order to transport the Hair Children out of their home until the coast was clear. One teleported eldest child Ba-baba out (accidentally), while another was used by their father to get away before a platoon of Hair Hunters tracked him down. Two other Hair Children were ultimately captured by the Maruhage: Bo-bobo was left by his father to the bald soldiers while Bebebe-be Be-bebe (who had been turned into a cat due to a time paradox) was stolen during the invasion by the emperor's brother, Hydrate.

Eventually, the chaos in the Hair Kingdom died down and the Maruhage soldiers returned home where they continued their Hair Hunt on their own citizens to this day. Yet after the chaos, a desired had been accomplished: Bibibi-bi Bi-bibi suddenly had no resistance preventing him from becoming the leader of the kingdom. Over the next twenty years, the Hair Child ruler made many rapid changes to his home, advancing the Hair Kingdom's technology and culture a thousand years within a short period of time. Yet even with rapid advancements, all matters of freedom and peace were replaced with paranoia and security as Bi-bibi clamped down authority on top of his people. He divided the Hair Kingdom into sixteen separate districts and recruited an army of tough, loyal soldiers to maintain the security of the land. His most infamous warriors are the Fist Hair Lion's Resolve 16, the sixteen leaders of the districts making use of some of the most powerful beings on the planet, including some that make Maruhage warriors cringe.

But even in the face of Bi-bibi's tyranny, hope still remained within the kingdom. Bububu-bu Bu-bubu, the only daughter of the Hair Children and Bi-bibi's little sister, began mounting a resistance against her brother but realized that she could not do it alone and needed the assistance of a powerful, important warrior. Recruiting Hatenko, another humanoid and an old family friend, she sent him off towards the Maruhage Empire to get the one person who can help her free their home from their evil brother: her younger brother Bo-bobo!
